When there are resources that I think will help you grow your autograph collection, I am going to let you know about them! That is the goal of my Recommended Resources posts. So, without further ado, here is my first one...
When I found out that Troy Rutter, the TTM King, was writing a book to help others learn the secrets to TTM (Through the Mail) success, I wanted to help in any way possible! And, really, his book, Autograph Collecting Secrets: Tools and Tactics for Through-The-Mail, In-Person and Convention Success, became everything that I hope that this blog will be! It's insanely practical and helpful for everyone looking to grow an autograph collection... long time collectors and new ones. I feel like I have been in the TTM game for a while now and I still picked up some tricks of the trade that I didn't know.
In the book he covers a wide range of topics including:
Recommended supplies for acquiring, storing and displaying autographs
How to find out where to send your request letters and items
Essential TTM How-To's and where to start
Tips on getting autographs IP (in-person)
and so much more!
It's a quick, to-the-point read. I finished within a day and I am a slow reader.
And, honestly, the $15 to buy the book is a small investment with a HUGE return. Not to mention it's actually free with Amazon's kindleunlimited. I highly recommend that you check pick up a copy of the book that I lovingly refer to as the Autograph Collector's Bible!
