Meeting Angus MacInnes - Star Wars Celebration Orlando

Growing up I have always loved the Pilots of the Rebellion! The attack run on the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope has always been one of my favorite scenes! That alone had me excited to meet Angus MacInnes... but what put me over the top was the clever use of his cut scenes in Rogue One. That was a surprise that I didn't expect but greatly respected!
My son, Landon, was also very excited to meet him. Landon had been watching Rogue One on my iPad while waiting in all of the lines... so he was ready to meet Gold Leader!
First thing I did was thank him. Leading up to Celebration, Angus wrote a Facebook post expressing his concern for his fan's experience in the Autograph Hall at Celebration. He was also one of the handful of actors pushing for extended signing times... which Topps granted. So, I thanked him for that and he was very humble and just expressed his appreciation for the fans that have given him so many opportunities in life.
Then, we talked about Rogue One and his scene in it. He shared with us that he was given a heads up that they were using the cut footage but needed him to redub the audio since the original recordings didn't fit the scenes for Rogue One. What was cool is that he was able to record his new dialog with ILM in California from his home in Scotland! Technology can be so amazing sometimes!
Like us, he loved the final product of Rogue One and said it's one of his favorite Star Wars films.
Mr. MacInnes was very accommodating with quote and inscription requests. Along the top of the card he wrote, "We're starting our attack run now..." I requested that quote because I though it fit the card perfectly!
I love that he didn't rush us. He spent his time with us and I hope to meet Angus again soon since I have so many more cards he can sign for my collection!
